Qualifications:

What I help clinicians with:

  • Supporting Neurodivergent clients, especially those who are autistic, those who have have learning disabilities/dyslexia, and those that are gifted.
  • Providing 2SLGBTQA+ affirming care.
  • Implementing Emotion Focused Therapy for Families (EFT-F, EFFT, EFST).
  • Creating meaningful formulations and goals, especially for complex clients.
  • Adapting evidence based practices (EBP) to meet the needs of specific clients.
  • Helping clinicians to resolve their own hard emotions, in order to better help their clients.

My approach to supervision:

I have supported students and other clinicians in their work for over ten years. I deeply enjoy meeting with other clinicians to help explore how they work, how they want to improve, and how I can help with that. In supervision, one of my main goals is to create a space that is emotionally safe enough that we can be vulnerable, while also being challenging enough that clinicians can improve.

Sometimes our work might focus on sharing and wrestling with theoretical ideas, other times we might be developing specific skills, or looking within and grappling with what makes a specific client or situation challenging. I feel genuinely privileged to engage with clinicians on any and all of these aspects of our work.

Some technical aspects:

  • I work over Zoom and usually book people for 50 minutes.
  • I am happy to see people on a regular basis or ad hoc, as needs arise.
  • If clinicians are able to videotapetheir sessions, I find viewing tapes very useful. But if clinicians are not able to tape, there are many other ways we can make progress.
  • You can email me at helen.hargreaves@rainbowbrain.ca to book a session.
  • I charge $200 per 50 minutes.
